1) Class A Uniform will be worn during Travel
2) Clothes & Gear:
Base (Wicking) Layer –
2 – Long underwear for cold weather (polypropylene, silk)
3 – Socks (wool or synthetic)
2 – Class B T-shirt or regular T-shirt (wicking material, no cotton)
Mid (Warmth) Layer –
Long-sleeved shirt (wicking material, no cotton)
Long Scout pants (no jeans, no shorts)
Sweater or Sweatshirt (fleece or wool, no cotton)
Outer (Wind) Layer –
Sturdy Hiking Boots
Warm Parka or Jacket w/ Hood
Beanie/knit cap (Fleece or Wool)
Water Resistant Mittens or Gloves (with extra pair)
Snow Pants or Shells
Additional Clothing –
Rain Pancho
Warm/Dry (to Sleep in)
lightweight sneakers or tennis shoes (for around camp)
2 pairs of clothes (wear 1 plus extra packed in plastic bag)
2 short sleeve shirts (synthetic is best, cotton is ok)
1 hat with brim
Sleeping -
sleeping bag in stuff sack lined with plastic bag (20 or 30 degree)
sleep clothes—worn only in sleeping bag (T-shirt, long PJs, sweat pants & shirt, socks, knit hat, gloves)
foam sleeping pad/inflatable pad
small pillow (compression) - optional
Additional Gear -
Ten Essentials
Mess Kit (1 bowl, 1 plate, 1 cup, 1 spoon and fork (or spork)
Water bottle with filter
Toiletries (face towel, tooth brush, tooth paste, toilet paper, hand soap or hand sanitizer)
Large Heavy Duty Trash Bag (for wet and dirty clothes)
2-3 (gallon size) Ziploc plastic bags to pack clothes
Camping Backpack with rain cover
Small/Lightweight Daypack (Optional)
1 pocket knife (must have totin chip)
1 Flashlight (small with extra batteries)
1 Map/compass
1 ditty bag for personal items (ziplock works fine)
Lip balm-SPF, sunscreen, insect repellent, sunglasses
Personal first aid kit
Small camp towel
